REGISTRATION POLICY
Youth programs administered by Parks and Recreation often have a limited number of spaces for participants. Please inquire about early registration for all programs by contacting the Parks and Recreation office at 410-778-1948 or email info@kentparksandrec.org.
SCHOLARSHIPS
No youth will be denied participation in any Kent County Parks and Recreation sponsored program due to financial restraints. Scholarships are available based on financial need. Contact the Parks and Recreation office at 410-778-1948 or email info@kentparksandrec.org for further information.

CHARACTER COUNTS AT
KENT COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION!
The six pillars of character are instrumental in the success of all programs offered by Kent County Parks and Recreation. All program participants are encouraged to promote the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Failure of any participant to follow the examples set forth in each pillar may result in expulsion from Kent County Parks and Recreation programs.
PUBLIC SCHOOL SITES
Currently, many of our recreational youth and adult leagues are offered in surrounding public school facilities. Working closely with the Board of Education, the Department of Parks and Recreation has several generous facility contracts with Kent County High School, Chestertown, Galena and Rock Hall Middle Schools and Garnett, Worton, Rock Hall, and Millington Elementary Schools. These facilities are utilized by the Department of Parks and Recreation primarily on weekday evenings.
WEATHER CANCELLATION HOTLINE

In an effort to accommodate the many weather related closure inquiries to the main line, Kent County Parks and Recreation has a WEATHER CANCELLATION HOTLINE in operation for all of its programs. Recorded information will be updated daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. as weather conditions warrant.
SCHOOL YEAR WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
(SEPTEMER - MAY)
In general, if Kent County Public Schools (KCPS) are closed, close early, or cancel evening programs, all KCPR programs at the Kent County Community Center (KCCC), a KCPR facility, and public school sites are closed. If KCPS are one hour or 90 minutes late, morning programs will be open. If KCPS are two hours late, morning programs will be closed. These general policies do not necessarily apply to programs offered by private vendors (please refer to program description) at the Community Center as they determine their opening and closing schedules.
WEEKEND/SUMMER WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
In general, announcements for weekend – summer programs and events held at the KCCC or a KCPR facility are posted by 8 am on the day in question. Decisions for programs with a start time before 8 am will be posted by 10 pm the night before.
E-MAIL NOTIFICATION
KCPR sends electronic communications for program announcements on a regular basis. When possible, in the event of weather related closing or other announcement s , a courtesy email will be sent to individuals who have provided an e - mail address. If you do not receive an e-mail and the weather is questionable, please be sure to call the
