All programs at the Kent County Community Center require a Facility Access Card for patrons ten (10) years of age and older.

INTRODUCTION TO BALLET, JAZZ & TAP

Winter Session

Fall Session

Students will be introduced to the world of ballet through barre warm up, stretches, center practive and across the floor combinations. Students will be introduced to the world of jazz while learning a variety of steps such as shuffle, dig, heel drops, toe taps, hip hop, music theatre, and other dance genres. The ten week classes will culminate with a showcase of skills for parents, friends, and other loved ones. A minimum of eight participants is required for each session.

BOYS & GIRLS
TUMBLING & GYMNASTICS

Time: Tiny Tumblers (ages 2–3)

Munchkins in Motion (ages 4–5)

Primary/Beginner (ages 6–11)

Cost: $50 per eight week session

Tiny Tumblers introduces tumblers to movement and space and requires parent participation. Munchkins in Motions is an introductory program that emphasizes tumbling, rolls, balance, strength and coordination. Primary and Beginner introduces floor routines, balance beam, vaulting and uneven bars. Students will be placed according to ability.Weather cancellation announced by 8 a.m. if questionable.

Each additional child in same household paying on a weekly basis will receive 25% discount.

*Fee must be paid in full by 4:30 p.m. the Friday before camp begins to receive entire summer fee discount. Sibling discount and entire summer discount cannot be combined. No refunds.

KIDDIE CAMP

This activity-oriented summer program is designed specifically for children ages 3 ½ – 5 allowing for growth, learning and fun in a structured setting. Individual and group play,
as well as creativity are emphasized. Indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, story telling, movies, songs, plus special events are included. Snacks and juice are provided
daily. Children must bring a non-refrigerated lunch each day.
This program limited to 20 children. Half day afternoon option is available for Kiddie Camp only. Registration begins
April 1.

DAY CAMP

Day camp introduces children ages 6 – 10 to a healthy and fit life style, socialization skills, nature appreciation, cultural diversity, and challenging individual and group activities.
There will be weekly field trips (additional cost), swimming, arts and crafts, movies, special events and much more. Fees are based on full day, weekly attendance. Children must bring a non-refrigerated lunch and snacks each day.
Registration begins April 1.

YOUTH IN ACTION CAMP

Recognizing the need for leadership, guidance, and opportunities for youth entering grades five and six, Youth In Action was fostered through its notably successful predecessor Leaders Club. Youth will participate in a highly structured
program that promotes strong values and character building, fit and healthy life style choices, nature appreciation, as well as, fun and educational field trips and events.
This program is limited to 28 children. Children must bring a non refrigerated lunch and snacks each day. Registration begins April 1.

SUMMER PLAYGROUND

Ages: 6–11

This drop-in program will run for 6 weeks (weather permitting) and will provide arts and crafts, games and activities to keep your child active for the summer.

SUMMERFEST

Ages: Completed Grades 4–8
Dates: June 28–August 6
Days: Monday–Thursday

Place: Chestertown Middle School
Cost: FREE

Be a part of Summerfest and experience character building recreation.  Each week participants will develop and enhance skills in sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, and floor hockey.  A weekly trip will include swimming, movies, or roller skating.  Registration is required.  Transportation for trips will be provided from program location. Summerfest is funded by the Town of Chestertown

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Ages: Kindergarten–4th Grade

Place: Galena, Garnett, Millington, Rock Hall and Worton Elementary Schools
Cost: $60 per child per month
Registration begins July 1st for the upcoming school year.

Fun, safe, structured activities after school designed for school age children that include arts and crafts, educational themes, homework time, sports and recreational activities. Conveniently located at Kent County Public Schools’ four elementary schools, the program is open Monday through Friday when school is in session. In the event that school is closed or closes early, the program will be closed. Each site is limited to 30 children.

TOTS OF FUN

Need to get the little ones outside of the house during those cold and chilly months? Join other parents and children for drop in play time for preschoolers. Bring your tricycles and scooters. The perfect opportunity to promote socialization, sharing and fun!

We are pleased to offer American Red Cross (ARC) swim lessons led by an ARC certified Water Safety Instructor.  A skills test will be scheduled when registration is received. KINDERMUSIK VILLAGE
(with Meghan Siudzinski)

Village is for lap babies, crawlers, and walkers, newborn to 18 months old. Incorporating the most current research on early childhood development, Village provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. High quality, professionally designed class and home materials include Kindermusik Foundations of Learning, insights based on current research that educate parents about their babies’ unique development. A different set of home materials for each session includes an instrument, board book, baby’s home journal, art banner, and music CD.

KINDERMUSIK OUR TIME

For children 18 months to 3½  years, Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster language skills. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills. Our Time encourages children to be creative, initiate their own ideas, and respond in their own ways, while active parent participation gives them the security to do so. Home materials include two music and movement books, a home activity book, two CDs, and a musical instrument.

KINDERMUSIK FAMILY TIME

For families with children, newborn to 7 years. We took favorite Kindermusik songs and activities and rolled them into a fun, family class where each child is welcomed and valued, and family together time is celebrated and cherished. All the Family Time activities encourage discovery and exploration and foster sharing and social skills too. In this special place for musical, social and emotional learning, your children will strengthen their ties with each other and with you—and they'll start developing the skills they'll need in school and on the playground.
