A Facility Access Card is required for all patrons (ages 13 and older) who are enrolled in programs or utilize amenities at the Community Center. A Facility Access Card is not required for attendees of private rentals (meetings, birthday parties, etc.) or public events such as youth basketball games, tournaments, and special events, however, they will be required to sign in on our attendance sheet.
A Daily Pass is available for patrons who do not wish to utilize the Center on a regular basis (the pass is ideal for member guests and visitors). The cost of the Daily Pass is $5.00 per person, and the pass is good for the entire day.

*The facility will be utilized as a high school age drop-in recreation center from 2:30 pm - 5 pm during the school year (late August-mid June).

The Fitness Room offers a range of cardio equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, along with hand weights and other workout items. Access is for those 12 and older with a Facility Access Card.
What is *Open Gym?
During "Open Gym," Facility Access Card (FAC) holders can use the gym on a first-come, first-served basis when it is not booked. Private rentals (with fees) are also available, excluding the gym from open gym use during that time.
The Community Center and Parks and Recreation facilities will be open to the public on a drop-in basis when Kent County Government is open. However, the operating schedule may be adjusted as needed as weather conditions warrant or in case of emergencies. If Kent County Government offices have a delayed opening or liberal leave is in effect, all morning programs starting before 10 am are canceled.

The Kent County Public Library (KCPL) and Kent County Parks and Recreation provide the KCPL Worton Computer Facility at the Kent County Community Center. It offers public computer access with internet (online) library resources and educational games following KCPL's computer use policy. Books can be borrowed without a library card on a trust system. No Facility Access Card (FAC) or library card is needed to enjoy the computer room.
During extreme hot/cold days during summer/winter months (July/August, January - March), Kent County Community Center serves as a cooling/warming center during normal business hours. Outside of these months, regular policies apply, including fees.
The facility was renamed by the Kent County Commissioners to honor Mr. Hawkins for his service to the Kent County Public Schools, as a County Commissioner, a Delegate at the Democratic National Convention, and in the State of Maryland Department of Education.
